28/06/2016 – To Port Hedland
The trip northwards was uneventful and we established ourselves in the Port Hedland Caravan Park only to find that Betty and Thelma were already there, we were very happy to agree to share their roast lamb dinner with them later on in the evening.
First though a quick walk on the sand flats where we watched the receding tide.
The sunset came in very quickly…
….. leaving only supper to be eaten. Not much table space but we managed admirably.
Four happy faces, full up and relaxed.
The next morning before leaving, we drove to the port for a look around. Here is one of the very large ships that was in port.
On this one you can see the conveyor belt spewing something (probably iron ore) into a ship.
A quick look up the channel but no boats coming in.
