20/06/2015 – Just pedaling around the Park

Not a beautiful day, but nice enough for a short cycle in King’s Park.

Kings Park is one of the largest inner city parks in the world and is visited by over 6 million people each year. It showcases an outstanding collection of Western Australian flora and is a popular place for picnics, walks and cultural and ceremonial events.

First stop, the Double Helix!  And time for a quick repair.  Climb all 101 steps of the spiraling DNA Tower for spectacular views.

Some of the bike tracks are a bit rough.  The total area of the park is 400.6 hectares and features both cultivated gardens and untamed bush land.

Lots of water features, fountains, lakes, creeks and natural bush.

A great view of South Perth.

Stormy weather brewing on the way home.  Plus here is the sturdy car with TWO bikes on the back.
