ANZAC DAY LONG WEEKEND – LANCELIN FIRST PORT OF CALL

23/04/2015 – On the way to Leeman – Stop Off at Lancelin

Marcel invited me to Leeman for the Anzac Day long weekend.  We set off Friday afternoon and got to Lancelin just before sunset, Marcel was keen to show me the sand hills at Lancelin – typical 4WDer, I think he just wanted to drive up those sand dunes and see if he could scare the #@%&* out of me.  I realized that I had actually never done this sort of four wheel driving before.

Clouds

Picturesque cloud formation from the beach at Leeman.

We are so proud of ourselves and our amazing vehicle!!!  At the top of the sand dunes.

Sand

It is actually quite terrifying being driven up a huge sand ridge, looking over the edge and imagining that you are slipping, sliding and tumbling down, and you have no control of the situation.

Sunset

Sunset over the Lancelin sand dunes.

Great picies. Especially the sunset. Marcel looks like a great guy and not too shabby either. I’ve had some great times on those sandhills. Very scary but fun. Date: Mon, 17 Aug 2015 07:21:00 +0000 To: roswang@hotmail.com
