28/02/2015 – Cycling around the island
Rottnest Island was just so beautiful that it was hard to know when to stop taking photographs. Likewise it is hard to know just how many to show on my blog, so here are a mix of some of those taken while cycling around the island. What an amazing place? With credit to my friend Joy Cooke who generously gave me a copy of her photos, some of which are shown here.
The first stunning coastal shot includes the nest of a Sea Osprey, look to the far right of the picture.
Followed by another Sea Osprey nest in the middle of a seal colony.
Here it is again showing more of the seals and surrounding area.
A bit of inland scenery showing tank turret and local lighthouse.
Quite a hike up to the lighthouse.
All of the boaties enjoying themselves. They were certainly packed in this long weekend!
Another quiet, peaceful cove.
This is a place I have earmarked for snorkeling next year. Crystal clear water and interesting rock formations.
Yet another beautiful spot.
And of course, the trusty bicycles. Bet you wish you had been there?
