13/07/2014 – An Action Outdoor Association walk.

A varied and interesting walk with interesting terrain comprising of a few small hills, bush scrub, some loose gravel and bitumen road. Be prepared to climb under wire fence. Good lookout on top of quarry. Afternoon tea at the quarry. (Scones jam and cream provided – bring your own drinks.)    This is the description of the walk provided on the AOA website, it looked like a good afternoon walk.

Perth from Gooseberry Hill.

Walking to the Quarry

If your eyes are good enough you can see the guys abseiling down the cliff.  We chose to walk down the easy way along a much easier gradient to the bottom of the quarry.

You can just see Perth in the distance.

Team leader had carried scones and jam and cream with her for a treat at the bottom of the escarpment, thanks Danuta.

Linda and John walking along trail enjoying the sun.

Heading back to the cars, a great afternoon’s walk.
