RAWNSLEY PARK TO WILPENA POUND

20/05/2013   Rawnsley Park to Wilpena    27kms

A sad day because it is my last one cycling, so we went slowly and took lots of photos. Thanks to Liz and Scott for including me in their trip even though I only stayed for two weeks.  I had a ball, and have the sore muscles to prove it. Hope the trip to Darwin goes well and wish you all the best for the coming weeks.

All too soon we arrived at Wilpena, what a massive campsite!!!  We couldn’t decide where to camp, rain had been forecast and we didn’t want to find ourselves in the middle of a creek in the morning.  After we had finally set up our tents Liz and I went on a walk towards Wilpena Pound in case I don’t get a chance to see it in the morning.

A decided change of scenery, lots of gum trees, just beautiful.

Next day Adrian arrived in the rain to pick me up and homewards we go.  I was disappointed to leave the trip so early, but on the other hand I was so lucky to have two weeks cycling with good friends, a never to be forgotten trip, thanks again Liz and Scott.  Maybe I’ll get the chance to do it again one day!
